I am in awe at how quickly your company responds to inquiries and claims. Sophie had knee surgery on her right back leg and is now running around like it’s brand new. In this world of impersonal service, I am pleased to say that Trupanion is an outstanding company and I encourage friends and acquaintances that your company is the "company of choice". I referred my neighbor to your company today as well. From the bottom of my and Sophie's heart, I thank you and your excellent staff.

Pet Name: Emma
Treated For: Total hip replacement
Claim Amount: $9,129.65
Time to Process Claim: Three weeks

We want to send a heartfelt thanks to all the folks at Trupanion. After a lot of research and careful consideration, we decided to insure Emma with Trupanion because we felt that it was the most thorough coverage we could get for our baby girl—and boy are we glad we made the choice we did! Emma began experiencing pain in her hips before she had her first birthday. The specialist explained our options and it was determined that Emma needed to have total hip replacement surgery on both sides. We knew that we were making the best choice for Emma, but without Trupanion we could not have made it happen. The Member Services team (especially Bailey) was very supportive throughout the claim process and did a wonderful job keeping us up-to-date on what was happening with our claim. Emma is recovering wonderfully and will live a normal, happy life when her recovery is complete and we have Trupanion to thank for that. We feel comfortable saying that any pets that join our family in the future will be insured with Trupanion and we are convinced…Trupanion really believes that good owners should not be punished for having unlucky pets! Our only regret is that we did not find Trupanion sooner!

Pet Name: Maddy Mae
Treated For: Wart Removal
Claim Amount: $232.94
Time to Process Claim: Three days

I wanted to send a note of gratitude to the folks at Trupanion for providing such great customer service in an industry that is not necessarily known for it. I was referred to Trupanion by my veterinarian with a little skepticism but knew from past experiences that pet insurance was something I promised myself I would get. I was pleasantly surprised when I filed a claim for Maddy that the claim was approved and paid within days -- and I even received a nice follow up call from your Member Services team letting me know that the claim had been approved and was on it's way. Thanks so much taking good care of your customers and their pets!

I just want to tell you how pleased I am with your company. I sent in a claim for one of my 3 dogs a couple of weeks ago. Now I've heard some horror, well not horror, some stories where pet insurance companies have given their clients a hard time when they've filed claims. My parent's bishon/lhasa cross has had some health problems and my parents are getting a bit of a hard time with the company they use. They've had to file 2 claims for him and are now being warned that if they have to file another one, his file will be re-assessed and their premiums may go up. [edited] This is the 2nd claim that I've filed, and the second time that I've had no problems whatsover.
For this particular claim, your company had to call my vet's office to obtain Baron's medical records and whoever called was apparently very friendly and professional to the point where my vet's office has been asking questions about your company. I received the cheque yesterday and appreciated the note on it thanking my vet and staff for filling out the paperwork
completely [sic] - I passed that on to their office. Hopefully you'll get some new clients soon.
I've just had to file yet another claim for my other dog, Tia, this week and I can't tell you how much of a relief it is to know that when one of my 'kids' has an accident I don't have to hesitate to take them in to get checked out.
My animals mean the world to me and I just wanted to send you this note to say thank you.

Pet Name: Pepper
Treated For: Spleen Rupture
Claim Amount: $6,538.00
Time to Process Claim: 2 weeks
|

Since the enrollment, Pepper went through surgeries due to unexpected illnesses and injuries. I am extremely thankful for your service to cover the majority of the cost. Especially, last October, he almost died from his spleen rupture. Having Vetinsurance policy gave me peace of mind even during those times. Thanks to you, Pepper got the emergency surgery he needed, and best of all, he made it through. Today, he is back in good health. I tell my friends and associates about Pepper’s story, and I recommended Vetinsurance to them, hoping that they will enroll for the sake of them and their pets.
Vetinsurance made a huge difference not only in Pepper’s life, but in my life as well. He is 11-1/2 years old but he is still my little baby. I can’t thank you enough for your support and service.

Pet Name: Binky
Treated For: Renal Failure
Claim Amount: $1,221.94
Time to Process Claim: 3 weeks
|
|
Binky was my beautiful female English Mastiff. She passed away from kidney failure at 23 months old on Feb 07, one month prior to the Menu Foods recall in March 07. She was my best friend and to this day, is greatly missed. Binky was a therapy dog in training; she had nothing but love fore everyone she met. She was a very special girl. Vetinsurance was extremely helpful during our ordeal; they covered everything from her first visit to her euthanasia, and all treatments in between. All of my claims were submitted and processed within 3 weeks. I can honestly say life would have been very difficult financially if I did not have her insured. Thank you for all your support. R.I.P Binky Boo

Pet Name: Tubie
Treated For: Antifreeze Toxicity
Claim Amount: $2,926.76
Time to Process Claim: 6 days
|
|
Meet Tubie. A well exercised two year old Siberian Husky who loves to play and wrestle with other dogs. July 3, 2008 Tubie and mom went to High Park as
usual to go for a stroll, when Tubie ran off into the bushes. Although this is normal behaviour for Tubie, Lori did note that he was gone for a bit longer then normal, but she didn’t think anything of it.
By the time they got home, he was shaky, and having trouble walking. He had had an ear infection previously, so his mom just thought that it was an inner ear thing. But when he started drinking and urinating more then usual, and falling down the stairs, she knew it was something more serious.
When Tubie and a very concerned Lori got to the Veterinary Emergency Clinic in Toronto, and she started to explain what his symptoms were they asked if he had been to High Park. She said yes, and they said, "Okay, let’s call triage!"
She wasn’t sure that her insurance for Tubie would cover the accident as she hadn’t scanned the policy to see if it covered malicious poisoning by third party, but six days after Tubie ate antifreeze soaked bread in Hyde Park, a cheque for treatment for 2810.52 was printed. Thirteen days after the intial incident, a second cheque was printed for Tubie for follow up treatment for 116.24.

Pet Name: Neuman
Treated For: Chronic Lumps, Upset Stomach, Tumors
Combined Claim Amount: $20,000.00
Time to Process Claim: 3 weeks
|
|
Meet Neuman. He’s a 12 year old German Short Hair Pointer. Neuman’s mom recently spent over $20,000 on him in vet bills. No, she didn’t re mortgage her house, win the lottery, or sell her left kidney, nor is she a distant relative of some rich recluse who has agreed to pay her vet bills. She had an insurance policy on Neuman."
What on earth could have possibly cost $20,000? Well, it all started May of ’05, Neuman had a sub cutaneous lump removed. (A lump under the skin) Then, in September 2005 Neuman had a cyst on his eye, and in September and October of 2005, his mom made several other claims relating to said cyst. For the remainder of 2005, and into mid 2006, Neuman continued to have lumpectomy procedures. But, in late 2006, he was discovered to have a mast cell tumour.
It was removed, to the tune of $2432.44, for the initial surgery, plus another several hundred dollars in follow up exams. After that, Neuman lost a toe to a soft tissue sarcoma (another type of cancer)
Then came the ultrasounds to rule out metastasis (spread of cancer) and to test for Cushings (it was negative for Cushings). The gastrointestinal upset, the mass on the tail, the weakness, the abdominal discomfort, and hemoconcentration (when there is a decrease in the fluid portion of the blood) a foreign body in the ear canal, and a nose bleed.
All in all, Neuman is a lucky canine companion. He has a parent who can provide him with the care and comfort that a geriatric dog needs. Plus lots of kisses and cuddles.

Claim Amount: $474.92
Time to Process Claim: 48 hours

I was insured with Vetinsurance for only one month before I was told that my dog of 9 years had cancer. The stress of the ordeal was helped, knowing that I had insurance for her.
Unfortunately, I had no choice but to say goodbye to her. The professionalism and compassion that Vetinsurance showed was unmatched to any other company I've dealt with. They paid my claim, showed sincere compassion and sent a condolence card within one week. How refreshing is it to have a company out there that does what they promise.

Pet Name: Titan
Treated For: Allergies
Claim Amount: $3,402.14
Time to Process Claim: 24 hours

I enrolled my lab cross, Titan, with Vetinsurance as soon as I adopted him. He was as healthy as can be until he turned around 9 months old. That's when the mysterious scratching started, followed by chronic ear infections and hot spots. Titan was allergic to cats and house dust mites! The only two options were to get rid of the cats and vacuum the house 5 days a week or try treatment with weekly allergy serum injections and medication. The medication started to work immediately and I'm happy to report that after almost 3 yrs of weekly treatment injections, Titan is no longer on his allergy medication and the cats can cuddle up with him as closely as they want without sending him into an itchy frenzy! If I hadn't enrolled “Titan” with Vetinsurance, I would have been faced with a very difficult decision. I have made a total of 30 claims with Vetinsurance over the past few years. The process has always been simple, I receive my cheques promptly in the mail, and the girls at the call center seem genuinely concerned about my itchy fur-kid. My experiences with Vetinsurance over the years have been wonderful and I would highly recommend their services.
