How do I file a claim with Trupanion?

If your veterinary hospital is among the many that accept Trupanion Vet Direct Pay, then you don’t need to worry about filing claims. All you need to do is tell your hospital that you have Trupanion coverage, and they’ll be able to submit your invoice right then and there, with processing and payment often taking just seconds.

Veterinary hospital not set up to accept direct payments from Trupanion? No worries! You can still submit a claim through us directly, and it’s easy. After you take your pet to the vet, there are two ways you can do this:

File online

Submit manually

First, download a claim form and fill it out. Then, take a picture of or scan the claim form and your itemized invoice from your pet’s visit and send it to us. Send claim forms and invoices to either:

Note: We process and pay claims faster if they're emailed or faxed to us, but you can mail them to us as well.
