For our veterans
Join the program
If you are interested in the program, please contact the department of rehabilitation and prosthetics services at your local VA Medical Center. They will coordinate with the program’s COR to determine your service dog’s eligibility. Trupanion is unable to enroll veterans who are not approved by the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs. We have no control over who is eligible or approved for the program.
Enjoy the program
- A Trupanion-issued ID card for your service dog. Your policy number and our dedicated 24/7 support phone number are on the card.
- A Trupanion dog ID tag. Our phone number is on the tag, along with an identification number for your service dog. This identification number can also help return your service dog to you if they get lost. If your dog is found, we will contact you directly, without disclosing any information about you.
- Program welcome letter. This letter confirms your acceptance in this program and is acceptable as proof you are part of the program.
- Claim cover sheet. This form can be provided to your veterinarian to assist them in submitting claims on your behalf.
If you do not have any of these items, your veterinarian can call us directly at 855.482.0163 and we can confirm you are in the program. We are also more than happy to talk to them about the program, review what is covered, and explain the payment options.
